JOB DESCRIPTION SHOP WELDER

Job Description-

Manufacture shop built parts for API 650 storage tanks or AWWA D-1OO water tanks. 

Essential Functions of the Job-

It is required that all employees read and exhibit understanding of the TANCO Safety Manual.  This is essential for the safety of all employees.

Welders must be able to layout and fit various seal parts, ladders, platforms, floating roof parts, nozzles, manways and other equipment designed for use on API 650 storage tanks or AWWA D-1OO water tanks.

Welders must be able to weld vertical and horizontal plate junctures and pipe to meet the standards of API 650 and 653 radiographic inspection. Welders must be able to pass tests as described under specific customer requirements.

Welders must have the skill to use oxygen-acetylene cutting equipment. Welders will assist in clean-up.

All welders must have the ability to operate power tools such as grinders, pneumatic busters, chipping hammers, and drills.

All welders must have the ability to operate shop machinery such as drill press, rolls, shears, burning tables, etc.
